This program is for residents of any age that live in any county in North Carolina who fall at or below 200% of the Federal Poverty Level (see FPL guidelines below) and have no prescription coverage. The client must live in Mecklenburg County or any county in North Carolina that is currently being served through the Statewide Pharmacy. Each client is screened during an initial interview. They are asked to provide their proof of income, proof of County residency and their written prescriptions from a physician. Proof of residency can be obtained with a utility bill showing their current address. We are able to determine their eligibility with last year’s tax return and the past 30-day’s pay stubs. If a client is not working, we require a support letter from the person who is financially taking care of them. Clients are also asked to sign a document stating that they do not have any prescription insurance.
